If you’ve ever looked on the ingredients label of most store-bought dog treats, you’ve seen things like…

Some even contain artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives, all of which could potentially irritate your dog’s digestion. And we all know that when your dog’s digestion is out of whack, horrible unwanted symptoms can arise, which is no fun for anyone. So how do you treat your canine friend if so many recipes are filled with harsh and potentially toxic ingredients?

We’re glad you asked! Say hello to our homemade dog recipes.

Now you might be thinking, “I don’t have a clue about making dog treats! I can’t even bake ready-made cookie dough without burning it.” We get it…not everyone is a natural-born pastry chef.

But here’s the beauty of it all: Not all dog recipes need to be baked. In fact, some dog recipes just require you to throw all the ingredients into a bowl and then scoop the finished product onto a plate. Simple enough, right? You don’t have to be the talented Rachael Ray to pull off these dog recipes. We’re pretty sure that your pup is not only going to love every bite of their homemade snack, but they’ll appreciate your efforts as well.

And as a bonus, we’ve listed out a few ways you can mix in some CBD oil and functional mushroom powder into your dog snacks. So not only will they be irresistibly tasty, but depending on what additions you put in, they could also support immune system function, help maintain joint mobility, and promote relaxation in your pet. Win, win, win!

#1. Beef, Carrot and Mushroom CBD Pupsicles

This isn’t exactly something us humans would enjoy sucking on, but for our pups, it’s paws-itively delicious! Not to mention, carrots have many health components. Even the grass-fed beef broth is filled with great stuff!

For this dog recipe you’ll only need three ingredients

Simply mix the beef broth and carrot puree into a bowl. Then, based on the weight of your canine pal, add the recommended dose of CBD oil into the mixture.

Then stir the ingredients until you see an even consistency.

Next, pour the mixture into a twelve-cubed ice tray and freeze until they are solid. Once they are frozen, award it to your pup…preferably outside or on a towel as it can get a little messy! This recipe is so easy to make, it should only take you 5 minutes to prepare.

#2. Sweet Potato, Peanut Butter, and Oat CBD Balls

When the holidays hit, there’s nothing we pet parents enjoy more than sneaking our canine friends a tasty sample of all the delicious holiday fixings. But sadly, their little digestive systems can’t handle some of the ingredients we use in our holiday dishes. That’s where these tasty little sweet potato and PB balls really come in handy. In fact, sweet potatoes are great for your dog! But it’s important to note that sweet potato is a carbohydrate. So it does turn into sugar in your dog’s body. For this reason, these delicious balls should only be given in moderation or on special occasions.

For this recipe you’ll only need four ingredients

Simply combine the first three ingredients into a large bowl and begin mixing. It helps if you mash the sweet potatoes beforehand, as it may be a little hard to mix if you don’t.

Then, depending on the weight of your canine friend, add the recommended dose of Broad Spectrum CBD Oil into the mixture.

Then mix, mix, mix…

Next, you can either use a large spoon or an ice cream scooper to scoop out a bite-sized serving. Using both hands, roll the mixture until you form a ball and then place it onto a plate covered with parchment paper. Put the balls in the fridge and chill for about an hour until they are nice and firm. Then serve to your trusted pooch.

#3. Pumpkin Mushroom Dog Bites

Ok, these bites will take a little more time and a few more ingredients to make, but in the end they are so worth it! These bites are packed with organic pumpkin, which your dog will thank you for!

And of course, functional mushrooms like Reishi, Shiitake, Mesima, Poria, and Turkey Tail are all safe for your dog to consume. They’re also known to promote healthy inflammatory responses, assist the immune system, and may help ease digestive upset.

So for these irresistible dog bites, you’ll need the following ingredients:

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine the oat flour, eggs, pumpkin, and mushroom powder together. Slowly mix in ½ cup of the grass-fed beef broth. Then mix in the peanut butter.

Add in more beef broth if necessary; try and create a nice thick dough. Then, using both hands, begin forming bite-sized balls onto a parchment paper covered baking sheet. With a fork or spoon, gently press down on the balls until they’re about 1/8th to 1/4th of an inch thick.

Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until they are nice and golden brown. Be sure to flip them over halfway before they’re finished baking.

Then, watch your canine friend indulge with excitement!
