Is THC safe for pets?

Short answer – no.

What about hemp-derived CBD and CBG with trace amounts of THC? – A resounding yes!

Raise the woof for hemp!

Although marijuana and hemp both stem from the cannabis family, they have many differences.

The hemp plant has only trace amounts of THC and is very high inCBD and CBG, while the marijuana plant is the exact opposite.

THC is the chemical that makes people “high.”  It is a chemical that the human body can biologically process, but pets cannot metabolize it the same way which makes it very dangerous to pets.

Make sure you’re only using a hemp-derived CBD or CBG product on your pet. You never want to give your pet a CBD oil derived from the marijuana plant because it can have high THC levels.  And if this accidentally happens, take your pet to the vet immediately. We recommend always choosing a pet-specific CBD brand, as it’s essential to make sure all ingredients are pet-friendly and that you’re administering the right potency based on your pet’s size.

What is the difference between full spectrum and broad spectrum?

Holistic Hound offers both full spectrum (contains less than 0.3% THC) and broad spectrum (undetectable THC) hemp products for pets. Our full spectrum hemp products contain trace amounts of THC (below 0.3%) that are both safe and effective for pets. Our broad spectrum hemp products are great for pet parents that are new to CBD and may be hesitant to try a product with trace amounts of THC.

All our products are third-party tested for heavy metals, pesticides, microbial, and potency, and the results can be found on our website.

Holistic Hound is also a proud member of the National Animal Supplement Council, following its strict quality standards.
